These quick and healthy veggie pizza bites are perfect for toddlers, combining wholesome ingredients in a fun, bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Bread and toppings

  • 2 slices whole wheat bread or soft pita bread (cut into circles)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup no-salt-added tomato sauce or homemade puree
  • 0.25 cup shredded mozzarella or mild cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped veggies (like bell peppers, zucchini, or spinach)
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted cream cheese or ricotta
  • 1 pinch oregano or Italian herbs for flavor (optional)

Instructions 

  • Cut bread into small circles and brush with olive oil.
  • Steam or sauté chopped veggies until soft and cool.
  • Spread tomato sauce on each bread circle.
  • Add cheese, veggies, and a dollop of cream cheese or ricotta.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes until cheese melts and bread is crispy.
  • Cool slightly before serving.
