Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Fruits

  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored and diced)

For serving

  • to taste caramel sauce (for drizzling)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  • Combine melted butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla; beat until smooth.
  • Mix in dry ingredients, fold in diced apples, then spread into pan.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes; cool before slicing. Drizzle with caramel sauce to serve.

Notes

For best results, use fresh apples and serve warm with ice cream if desired.
