A hearty and flavorful dish combining baked potatoes with smoky barbecue steak and cheese, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 4 pieces russet baking potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 pound cube steak
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • salt and pepper salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 green onions green onions (sliced)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Scrub potatoes, prick with a fork, and bake for 60-75 minutes.
  • Pat steak dry, brush with 1/2 of barbecue sauce, and cook over indirect fire for 3-5 minutes per side. Rest and slice into strips.
  • Split baked potatoes, fluff insides, and mix with butter, salt, and pepper.
  • Top potatoes with shredded cheese, BBQ steak, remaining barbecue sauce, and sliced green onions.

Notes

For extra smoky flavor, add wood chips to your grill.
