Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook ground beef in a skillet until browned, then add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
Stir in black beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
Layer beef mixture and tortillas in a baking dish, topping with cheese; repeat layers and finish with cheese.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let sit 5 minutes before slicing and serving with toppings.
Notes
For a spicier flavor, add hot sauce or jalapeños to the layers.
