A hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender beef in a rich mushroom cream sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 3 pounds beef sirloin
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 onion onion (peeled and chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
  • 0.25 cup flour
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup all-purpose cream

Other

  • 1 can 8 ounces whole mushrooms, drained
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil

Instructions 

  • Slice beef into 1/4-inch thick pieces, season with salt and pepper.
  • Heat oil in a pan, sear beef until browned, then remove and keep warm. Cook mushrooms briefly, then set aside.
  • Add butter to the pan, cook onions and garlic until softened. Stir in flour and cook 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually whisk in broth, add beef back to the pan, bring to boil, then simmer covered for 1-1.5 hours until tender. Add cream and mushrooms, cook 1-2 minutes.

Notes

Ensure to keep an eye on the liquid level during simmering to prevent burning or drying out.
