A quick and flavorful beef stir fry with colorful vegetables and a savory sauce, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Vegetable Oil

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (divided)
  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 cups mixed vegetables
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
  • cup orange juice
  • cup water
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for sauce thickening)

Instructions 

  • Whisk orange juice, water, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil; set aside.
  • Slice beef thinly after trimming; toss with salt, pepper, and cornstarch.
  • Cook beef in hot oil until browned; remove and set aside.
  • Stir fry vegetables until tender-crisp; combine with beef.
  • Simmer sauce, thicken with cornstarch slurry, then return beef and vegetables to heat through.

Serve over rice or noodles for a complete meal.
