Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked white rice

Dairy

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Fresh herbs

  • for garnish Fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown ground beef in a skillet, season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and paprika. Drain excess fat.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, sauté garlic for 1-2 minutes. Add rice, beef broth, and heavy cream; simmer until creamy, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch dish. Spread rice mixture, layer beef, then sprinkle cheeses on top.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden. Optional broil for 2-3 minutes for extra color.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use full-fat cheese and fresh herbs.
