But buttery Garlic Breadsticks with Italian Seasoning

Delight in soft, buttery breadsticks infused with garlic and Italian herbs, perfect as a side or snack.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (one packet)
  • 1 cup warm water (105–115°F / 40–46°C)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 large garlic cloves (minced or 2 tsp garlic powder)
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning (a blend of dried oregano, basil, thyme, rosemary)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, optional)

Instructions 

  • Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in flour, salt, and softened butter; knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down dough and divide into 8 pieces.
  • Roll each piece into a stick, place on baking sheet, and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic and Italian seasoning.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Brush with remaining garlic butter and sprinkle Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add more garlic or cheese as desired.
