Instructions
Whisk together brown sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan.
Gradually add milk, whisking constantly; cook until thickened and bubbling (~5–7 min).
Temper egg yolks with hot mixture, then return to saucepan and cook 2–3 min until smooth.
Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla, then pour into crust and chill for at least 4 hours.
Top with whipped cream and garnish with butterscotch chips or caramel sauce before serving.
