A delicious pastry featuring flaky puff pastry topped with sweet apples, cinnamon, caramel, and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 2 large granny smith apples, thinly sliced
  • 0.25 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup caramel sauce

Egg wash

  • 1 large egg, beaten with a splash of water

Topping

  • Flakey sea salt, optional flaky sea salt (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 425F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
  • Roll pastry to 1/4" thickness and cut into six rectangles, scoring a border.
  • Fill centers with sliced apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, then brush borders with egg wash.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes until golden, then cool slightly.
  • Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle with flaky salt, if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a dash of vanilla to the apple filling.
