A deliciously spiced apple galette with chai flavors and creamy ricotta, perfect for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Spiced Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/4 teaspoon all-spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 4-5 apples Honeycrisp apples, halved, cored, and thinly sliced
  • coarse sugar for sprinkling
  • for serving vanilla ice cream

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Simmer maple syrup, butter, spices, and pepper for 2 minutes; stir in vanilla and salt.
  • Roll puff pastry into a rectangle, spread ricotta, drizzle with spiced maple, arrange apples, fold edges, brush with maple, and sprinkle sugar.
  • Bake for 25-35 minutes until golden; cool slightly and serve with remaining spiced maple and ice cream.
