Indulge in rich, fudgy brownies topped with a creamy cheesecake layer and marbled for a beautiful presentation.

Ingredients

Chocolate and Butter

  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate (broken into pieces)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (cut into 8 pieces)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons semi-sweet chocolate chips

Cheesecake Topping

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened to 65ºF (19ºC))
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF (177ºC) and prepare an 8x8-inch pan with foil and spray.
  • Melt chocolate and butter over low heat, then whisk in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients separately and fold into chocolate mixture. Prepare brownie batter and set aside 2 tbsp for marbling.
  • Mix cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth for the cheesecake layer. Spread over brownie batter, then swirl with reserved batter and top with chocolate chips.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, tent with foil, then bake until center reaches 195-200ºF (91-93ºC). Cool in pan for 1.5-2 hours before slicing.
