These homemade chewy granola bars combine the warmth of cinnamon with fresh apple pieces for a delicious, wholesome snack.
Ingredients
Dry ingredients

rolled oats
(about 180g)

all-purpose flour
(can substitute almond flour for gluten-free)

ground cinnamon

baking powder
Wet ingredients

apple
(peeled and finely chopped, about 1 cup)

brown sugar
(70g)

cup
unsalted butter
(melted, 56g (can substitute coconut oil))

honey
(can substitute maple syrup or agave nectar)

teaspoon
vanilla extract

chopped nuts
(walnuts or pecans, optional, 30g)

raisins or dried cranberries
(optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment.
Mix dry ingredients; in a separate bowl, combine wet ingredients.
Combine wet and dry, fold in apples and optional nuts or dried fruits.
Press mixture into the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are golden.
Cool completely, then lift out and cut into bars.
Notes
Press firmly to ensure bars hold together well.
