Chocolate Workout Bars Recipe

Delicious and healthy chocolate bars made with black beans, perfect for a quick energy boost or post-workout snack.

Ingredients

Base mixture

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup nut butter of choice or oil
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup, honey, agave, or date syrup
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup oat flour or almond flour, or rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp oil (for melting with chocolate chips)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave

Instructions 

  • Line an 8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Blend beans, salt, nut butter or oil, sweetener, cocoa powder, and flour until smooth.
  • Mix in chocolate chips gently, then spread into the pan and freeze until firm.
  • Prepare chocolate topping by melting chocolate chips with oil or mixing cocoa powder, coconut oil, and sweetener, then spread over the bars.
  • Return to freezer until the chocolate sets, then cut into bars and serve.

Notes

For best results, store in the freezer and enjoy chilled.
