Ingredients

Batter

  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup sour cream

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup toasted pecans, coarsely chopped (optional)

Icing

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cream cheese

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉/180℃ and grease the loaf pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients; beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, sour cream, and combine.
  • Layer batter and cinnamon sugar mixture in pan, swirling gently. Bake for 40-50 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and cream cheese for icing. Drizzle over cooled cake.

Notes

Ensure not to overmix the batter to keep the cake light and fluffy.
