A delightful and easy-to-make snack cake infused with cinnamon and topped with a sweet sugar glaze.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Topping

  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients and buttermilk.
  • Pour batter into pan and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle over cake before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top before baking.
