Cinnamon Swirl Pound Cake Loaf

A moist and flavorful pound cake with a cinnamon swirl, perfect for a cozy treat or dessert.

Ingredients

Butter and Sugar

  • 1/2 cup salted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar

Eggs and Vanilla

  • 3 large eggs (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or vanilla bean paste)

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour (spooned and levelled)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup full-fat sour cream (at room temperature)
  • 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (not fan assisted) and grease your loaf pan.
  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  • Mix dry ingredients, then alternate adding dry mixture and sour cream to the batter.
  • Set aside 1/2 of the batter, mix cinnamon swirl ingredients into it, then layer plain and cinnamon batters in the pan. Swirl with a knife.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon sugar topping, then bake for 55-65 minutes until a knife comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a rack.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
