Delightful crumb bars featuring tart cranberry sauce, creamy white chocolate, and crunchy almonds, perfect for festive occasions.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk (at room temp)
  • 2 sticks salted butter (at room temp)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour

Cranberry Sauce

  • 1 cup cranberry sauce (make from fresh cranberries, orange juice and zest, sugar)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions 

  • If making cranberry sauce, cook cranberries, orange juice and zest, and sugar until thickened. Let cool.
  • Cream butter, sugar, salt, vanilla, and egg yolk until fluffy.
  • Add flour in two batches to form a crumbly dough.
  • Press 2/3 of dough into a lined pan, spread cranberry sauce, then top with white chocolate and almonds. Crumble remaining dough on top.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes until golden. Cool and cut into squares.

Store in the fridge for up to a week for best freshness.
