Ingredients

Oats

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups milk (any type)
  • 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1.5 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

Optional toppings

  • chopped pecans, banana, raisins, cream cheese drizzle (as desired)

Instructions 

  • Optional: Toast oats in a dry skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan and lightly toast oats for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add milk and salt, then simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, stirring often until creamy.
  • Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract.
  • Serve topped with optional toppings or a cream cheese drizzle.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla or a sprinkle of additional cinnamon.
