A rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 large chicken breasts (halved and dredged in flour)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste) Salt & pepper
  • Flour (for dredging) Flour

Cooking Fats

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Mushrooms

  • 12 ounces mushrooms (sliced) (cremini or white)
  • 1/4 teaspoon teaspoon Italian seasoning

Aromatics

  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

Liquids & Condiments

  • 1/2 cup cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup heavy/whipping cream

Instructions 

  • Slice chicken breasts, season with salt & pepper, and dredge in flour.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, cook chicken until golden, then set aside.
  • Melt butter, cook mushrooms with Italian seasoning until browned, then remove.
  • Add garlic, broth, lemon juice, and mustard; simmer until reduced by half.
  • Stir in cream, add chicken and mushrooms, cook until heated through and sauce thickens. Season as needed.

Notes

Serve with rice or pasta for a complete meal.
