A deliciously crispy chicken dish topped with cheddar cheese and served with a savory cream sauce. Perfect for a comforting family dinner.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Crackers

  • 2 sleeves Ritz crackers

Seasonings

  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.125 tsp pepper
  • 1 cup whole milk

Cheese

  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Herbs & Condiments

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

Canned Goods

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup (10 oz)

Dairy

  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions 

  • Prepare three shallow dishes: milk, shredded cheese, and crushed Ritz crackers seasoned with salt, pepper, and parsley.
  • Slice chicken if thick, then dip each piece into milk, coat with cheese, and press into cracker crumbs.
  • Place coated chicken in a greased baking dish, sprinkle with leftover crumbs, cover with foil, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake 10-15 minutes until golden.
  • Meanwhile, melt butter, stir in cream of chicken soup and sour cream to make a sauce. Serve over chicken or on the side.

Notes

For easier crushing, put crackers in a zip-top bag and roll with a rolling pin.
