A deliciously crispy chicken dish coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs (or breasts), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 large eggs eggs
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Coating

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying vegetable oil (for frying)

Sauce

  • ½ cup honey
  • cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (slurry) (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions (green onions)

Instructions 

  • Coat chicken pieces with eggs and soy sauce, then dredge in cornstarch. Rest for 5–10 minutes.
  • Fry chicken in hot oil until golden and cooked through, then drain on paper towels.
  • Combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and water; simmer. Add cornstarch slurry and stir until thickened.
  • Add crispy chicken to sauce, toss to coat, then garnish with sesame seeds and scallions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double fry the chicken.
