Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups all unbleached purpose flour (plus additional for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup ice water
  • 1 tablespoon oil for cooking (about 2-3 tablespoons total)
  • ¼ to ⅓ olive oil or melted butter for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons chopped parsley (about 2 teaspoons)

Instructions 

  • Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  • Add ice water and oil; stir until dough forms. Rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 10-12 pieces; flatten each into a ¼ inch thick circle.
  • Heat skillet with 1 tablespoon oil; cook flatbreads 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  • Remove and cool slightly; brush with olive oil or butter, sprinkle parsley, and serve.

Notes

Ensure the dough is soft but not sticky for best results.
