These quick and flavorful garlic flatbreads are perfect as a snack or side dish, with a soft interior and golden crust.
Ingredients
Dough
1/2cupwarm water(105-115°F)
2tspinstant yeast
1tspsugar
3Tbspolive oil
1/4cupplain yogurt
1eggegg
1/2tspsalt
2 1/2-3cupsall-purpose flour(start with 2.5 cups, add more as needed)
2Tbspmelted butter
2tspminced garlic (optional)
Instructions
Activate yeast by mixing warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit 5-10 min until frothy.
Add olive oil, yogurt, and egg to yeast mixture; whisk until combined.
Mix in flour and salt, adding more flour if needed, until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead dough 8-10 min by hand or 5-7 min in a mixer until smooth.
Let dough rise in oiled bowl, covered, 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
Divide into 4 portions, shape into circles or ovals, brush with melted butter (garlic optional), and rest 15-20 min. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10-15 min until golden.
Notes
For extra flavor, sprinkle minced garlic on flatbreads before baking.
