Ingredients

Dairy and chocolate

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • ¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (higher quality recommended)
  • cups brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (weighed or spooned and leveled)
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup creamy peanut butter (natural not recommended)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt butter and chocolate chips until smooth. Whisk in brown sugar, then eggs; mix well.
  • Mix flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Spread half of batter in pan, add spoonfuls of peanut butter, then top with remaining batter. Swirl with a knife.
  • Bake for 25-35 minutes until edges set. Cool before slicing.

Notes

For extra fudginess, under-bake slightly and let cool completely.
