Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus additional for dusting)
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons salt

Wet ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 cup ice water
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup olive oil or melted butter (for brushing)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions 

  • Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add wet ingredients: Create a well, add oil, then gradually mix in ice water to form dough.
  • Knead and rest: Knead dough for 5-7 minutes, then cover and rest for 30 minutes.
  • Divide and roll: Punch down, divide into 6-8 portions, roll into balls, then flatten into ¼ inch circles.
  • Cook flatbreads: Heat oil in skillet, cook each flatbread 2-3 minutes per side until golden.
  • Brush and garnish: Immediately brush with garlic-herb mixture and sprinkle with parsley.

For extra flavor, add herbs or spices to the dough or topping.
