Ingredients
Dough
500gbread flour(approximately 3¾ cups)
40ggranulated sugar(approximately 3 tablespoons)
1.5teaspoonsinstant yeast
225gcold water(a little less than 1 cup)
115gcold milk(½ cup)
9gsea salt(1½ teaspoons)
25gunsalted butter(softened, 1¾ tablespoons)
For greasing and brushing
Butter(for greasing the pan and brushing the loaf)
All-purpose flour(for dusting the pan)
Instructions
Whisk cold water and milk together in a bowl.
Combine flour, sugar, and yeast in a mixer. Add liquids and mix until shaggy dough forms.
Knead on medium-low until smooth. Add salt and butter, knead until elastic and passes windowpane test.
Shape into a ball, let rise in a greased bowl for 1-1.5 hours until doubled.
Punch down, shape into a loaf, place in greased pan, and let rise for 45-60 minutes.
Brush with melted butter, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes until golden. Cool on wire rack.
