This simple skillet bread combines herbs and cheese for a flavorful, crusty loaf with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1.5 tbsp instant yeast
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp herb seasoning
  • 1 3/4 cups shredded cheese
  • 3.5-4 cups white flour (add more as needed)

Instructions 

  • Mix yeast and warm water; let sit 5 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients, starting with 3.5 cups of flour, and mix until just slightly sticky.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm spot for 45-60 minutes until doubled.
  • Patt down dough, place in oven-safe dish, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-40 minutes until golden and firm.
  • Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for best flavor and add flour gradually to achieve the right dough consistency.
