Ingredients

Dairy and Baking

  • 0.5 cup Salted Butter (melted)
  • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Fine Yellow Cornmeal
  • 0.25 cup Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Baking Soda
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0.25 cup Pure Honey (more for drizzle if desired)
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat butter in a cast iron skillet until melted, then set aside.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, honey, and buttermilk.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, then add melted butter. Pour batter into hot skillet.
  • Bake for 20-23 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, drizzle with honey before serving.
