A deliciously flaky and golden galette featuring tender apple slices wrapped in buttery puff pastry, perfect for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (250 g), thawed (see note below)
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples (1/8-inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 Tbsp coarse sugar

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Roll out puff pastry on floured parchment, transfer to skillet, and chill for 10 minutes.
  • Mix lemon juice and vanilla, toss with apples, then add sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Arrange apples on pastry, drizzle with juices, dot with butter, fold edges, brush with cream, and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  • Bake at 425°F for 10 minutes, then reduce to 375°F and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Loosen edges, cool for 10 minutes, then serve.

Notes

For best results, chill the pastry before baking and serve warm.
