Ingredients

Dough

  • 3 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1.5 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1.75 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt (for butter)
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions 

  • Activate yeast in warm water with sugar until frothy.
  • Mix in flour and knead until elastic; let rise until doubled.
  • Divide dough, roll into 7-inch logs, and arrange on baking sheet.
  • Allow breadsticks to proof until puffed, then bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 minutes.
  • Mix melted butter with garlic powder and Italian seasoning; brush over hot breadsticks.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan before baking.
