Ingredients

Dough

  • 10 tablespoons unsalted butter (Provides richness and moisture)
  • 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar (Adds sweetness and helps with texture)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (Delivers intense chocolate flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 large cold eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup chopped walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips ((optional))

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (162°C) and line an 8-inch square pan with parchment.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and salt until combined. Cool slightly.
  • Mix in eggs one at a time, then fold in flour and optional nuts until just combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, checking with a toothpick for moist crumbs.
  • Let cool before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra fudginess, slightly underbake and let brownies set before cutting.
