Delicious homemade garlic flatbreads that are perfect as a snack or side dish, with soft interior and golden crispy edges.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 egg egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/2-3 cups all-purpose flour (adjust as needed)
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced (optional)

Instructions 

  • Mix warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until bubbly.
  • Add oil, yogurt, egg, salt, and 2 cups flour; stir until smooth.
  • Gradually add more flour to form a soft dough; knead until smooth.
  • Let dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  • Divide dough, roll into 6-inch circles, and cook on a skillet until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Brush with melted butter mixed with minced garlic if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add chopped herbs or cheese to the dough before cooking.
