Garlic Lovers Pepper Steak

A flavorful stir-fry featuring tender steak and vibrant peppers, perfect for garlic lovers.

Ingredients

Marinade

  • 6 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce (or GF tamari)
  • 0.25 cup low sodium chicken or beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (scant)
  • 0.125 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1.5 pounds flank steak (skirt or top sirloin steak, cut into pieces on the bias)
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger (or paste)
  • 6-8 cloves garlic (minced)

Vegetables

  • 3 bell peppers cut into cubes (any color you like)
  • 1 medium onion (cut into thick slices)

Instructions 

  • Combine marinade ingredients with ¼ cup water; set aside.
  • Marinate beef with 3 tbsp of marinade for 30 minutes or overnight; stir in ginger and garlic.
  • Heat oil in a skillet; sear half the beef until well browned, then remove. Repeat with remaining beef.
  • Sauté onions, then add peppers; cook briefly. Return beef to skillet.
  • Mix remaining marinade, stir in cornstarch, pour into skillet, and toss to coat. Serve hot.

Notes

Serve with rice or a salad for a complete meal.
