Enjoy soft, flavorful garlic naan bread with aromatic garlic and fresh herbs, perfect as a side or snack.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour (a versatile base that gives naan its classic texture.)
  • 3/4 cup Warm water (helps activate the yeast for a fluffy rise.)
  • 1 teaspoon Active dry yeast (essential for leavening; ensure it’s fresh for best results.)
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar (a pinch feeds the yeast and enhances flavor.)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt (balances the sweetness and elevates every bite.)
  • 1/4 cup Plain yogurt (adds richness and tenderness to the dough.)
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter (provides a creamy base for flavoring your naan.)
  • 3 cloves Fresh garlic (minced finely to infuse each piece with aromatic goodness.)
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped cilantro or parsley (adds a fresh, vibrant touch that complements the garlic naan bread beautifully.)

Instructions

  • Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add yogurt and warm water, then knead into a soft dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll each into a flat circle.
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook each naan for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • In a small pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Brush over hot naan and sprinkle with chopped herbs.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a pinch of cumin or coriander to the dough.
