Delight in these warm, flaky cinnamon scones topped with a sweet glaze, perfect for breakfast or tea time.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup butter (cold)
  • 2 eggs eggs (cold)
  • 0.5 cup half and half cream (cold)
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla
  • 0.5 cup powdered / icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 0.5 tablespoon cream / half and half

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheet with parchment.
  • Mix eggs, cream, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk dry ingredients, cut in butter, then combine with wet mixture.
  • Knead dough into an 8-inch circle, cut into triangles, brush with milk, sprinkle sugar, and bake for 14-16 minutes.
