Ingredients

Meat and Oil

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef

Spices and Paste

  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • ½ teaspoon oregano
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • ½ cup water

Toppings and Wraps

  • 8 Corn or flour tortillas tortillas
  • to taste lettuce (finely chopped)
  • to taste shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
  • to taste chopped tomatoes
  • to taste chopped red onions

Instructions 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add beef and cook until browned, 5-7 minutes. Drain fat.
  • Add spices, tomato paste, water; stir and simmer until thickened, 3-5 minutes.
  • Serve beef in tortillas with desired toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh cilantro or a squeeze of lime.
