Ingredients

Rice

  • 1 cup white rice, dry

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon tablespoon sesame oil
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional) (optional)
  • 2 green onions green onions, finely sliced (white parts only)
  • 2 cups shredded carrots
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • ½ cup cilantro, roughly chopped
  • 1 lime lime, cut into wedges

Instructions 

  • Cook rice in water with a pinch of salt until tender, about 15 minutes.
  • Cook ground turkey in sesame oil until browned, then add green onions and red pepper flakes, cook 1-2 minutes.
  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, cornstarch, ginger, and garlic powder; add to turkey and cook until thickened.
  • Add carrots and cabbage, cover, and cook 2-3 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in most green parts of onions and sauce, cook 2-3 minutes to coat and thicken.
  • Divide rice into containers, top with turkey mixture, garnish with green onion, cilantro, and lime wedges.

Notes

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
