Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 pound Lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7)
  • 1 cup Onions
  • 1 cup Bell peppers
  • 1 cup Mushrooms
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Basil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • Optional Add-ins (black beans, corn, green chilies)

Instructions 

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet; drain excess fat.
  • Sauté onions and bell peppers if desired.
  • Combine all ingredients in the crockpot and mix thoroughly.
  • Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  • Sprinkle remaining cheese during last 30 minutes; serve once melted.

Notes

You can add black beans, corn, or green chilies for extra flavor and nutrition.
