Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons dry active yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons granulated sugar (19g)
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter melted (43g)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 ¾ to 4 cups all-purpose flour (450-480g)

Garlic Butter Topping

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted (56g)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Optional herbs

Instructions 

  • Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar; let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
  • Add melted butter, salt, garlic powder, and gradually mix in flour to form a soft dough. Knead until smooth.
  • Let dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough and cut into strips. Place on baking sheet.
  • Mix melted butter with garlic powder and herbs; brush over breadsticks. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle dried parsley or herbs before baking.
