  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 cup crushed candy canes (for festive crunch)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (plus more for dotting on top)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cream together butter, shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar.
  • Add eggs, vanilla, and peppermint extracts; mix well. Gradually add flour, baking soda, and salt; combine.
  • Stir in crushed candy canes and white chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are golden. Let cool and enjoy!
