Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 pound beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch ginger (grated)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 carrot julienned
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

For Serving

  • as needed cooked rice (for serving)
  • for garnish Asian sesame seeds

Instructions 

  • Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  • Marinate the beef slices in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the beef until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  • In the same skillet, sauté onions, carrots, and green onions until tender.
  • Serve the beef and vegetables over cooked rice, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

For best flavor, marinate the beef for at least 15 minutes before cooking.
