Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup California walnuts, (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt

Wet ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, (melted)
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs, (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon maple extract ((optional*))
  • 8 ounces sour cream, (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, (sifted)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray the bottom of an 8-inch square pan with nonstick cooking spray.
