A quick and flavorful one-pan dish combining seasoned ground beef with colorful peppers and tomatoes, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Vegetables

  • 1 medium onion (thinly sliced)
  • 2 bell peppers mixed colors, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)

Seasonings

  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Liquids

  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes or marinara
  • 0.5 cup beef broth or water
  • to taste Salt and pepper

For Serving

  • 4 rolls or cooked pasta hoagie rolls or pasta
  • 0.5 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella (optional)

Instructions 

  • Heat oil in a skillet; cook beef until browned, 5–7 minutes.
  • Push beef aside; cook onion and peppers until softened, 4–5 minutes; add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
  • Add seasonings, tomatoes, and broth; simmer 5–7 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  • If using cheese, sprinkle on top and cover briefly to melt. Serve on rolls or over pasta.

Feel free to customize with your favorite toppings or serve over pasta for a hearty meal.
