One Skillet Chicken with Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce

A flavorful and easy-to-make chicken dish with a zesty lemon garlic cream sauce, cooked entirely in one skillet for convenience.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 4 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • salt and pepper salt and pepper (to taste)

Liquid

  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (or more to taste)

Cooking fats

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • cup finely diced shallots or red onions
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley or basil

For serving

  • Prepared broccolini prepared broccolini (for serving)

Instructions 

  • Pound chicken to ½ inch thickness, season with salt and pepper.
  • Mix chicken broth, lemon juice, garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Brown chicken in olive oil, then remove from skillet.
  • Sauté shallots, add broth mixture, simmer until thickened, then add butter and cream.
  • Return chicken to skillet, cook in oven at 375ºF for 5-8 minutes, then garnish with herbs and serve.

Notes

Serve with rice, pasta, or veggies for a complete meal.
