Ingredients
For the Sauce
1 ¼cupschicken broth
1 ¼cupshalf and half
½cubechicken bouillon cube
1teaspoonsoy sauce
1teaspoonhot sauce
¾teaspoondried parsley
¾teaspoondried basil
¾teaspoondried oregano
¾teaspoonmustard powder
Pinchred pepper flakes
For the Vegetables
2tablespoonsolive oil
2cupsbroccoli florets
½cupcarrots, julienned
½cupred onion, sliced
1cupred bell pepper, sliced
1 ½cupszucchini, cut into chunks
½cupfrozen peas
1cupcherry tomatoes, halved
Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Pasta

For the Sauce Base
3tablespoonsbutter
3clovesgarlic, minced
3tablespoonsflour
1cupfreshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Combine chicken broth, half and half, chicken bouillon, soy sauce, hot sauce, parsley, basil, oregano, mustard powder, and red pepper flakes in a large measuring cup. Stir well and set aside.
Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil and sauté vegetables for 3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Melt butter, sauté garlic, stir in flour to form a roux, then add the sauce mixture. Simmer until thickened.
Reduce heat, add Parmesan cheese, and stir until melted. Mix in cooked pasta and vegetables. Serve hot.
Notes
For a creamier sauce, add a splash of lemon juice before serving.
