A delicious and easy-to-make pear compote that is perfect for breakfast, desserts, or as a topping for yogurt and pancakes.

Ingredients

Fruits

  • 6 pieces pears, peeled, cored and diced into 1/4" cubes
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions 

  • Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan, stir well and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45-55 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears are soft and syrup thickens.
  • Remove from heat and let cool completely before storing.

Notes

This compote can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
