A delicious and easy-to-make pear compote that is perfect for breakfast, desserts, or as a topping for yogurt and pancakes.
Ingredients

pears, peeled, cored and diced into 1/4" cubes

lemon juice

tablespoons
maple syrup

brown sugar

teaspoon
vanilla extract

teaspoon
cinnamon
1/2
teaspoon
ground ginger

teaspoon
nutmeg
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan, stir well and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer for 45-55 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pears are soft and syrup thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool completely before storing.
Notes
This compote can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
