A cozy fall dessert combining spiced pumpkin filling with a crunchy crumble topping infused with chai and toasted pecans.

Ingredients

Dry ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom (optional)

Wet ingredients

  • ¾ cup pumpkin puree
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup coconut milk or any milk you have/like
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup chopped pecans, walnuts, or hazelnuts
  • 1 tea bag masala chai tea bag

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Steep chai tea in boiling water and set aside.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Whisk wet ingredients separately, then combine with dry. Pour into prepared dish.
  • Sprinkle sugars and nuts over filling. Pour steeped tea over top without mixing.
  • Bake for 50-55 minutes until golden and set. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla or butter pecan ice cream for extra indulgence.
