Ingredients

Baking essentials

  • 1/2 cup pumpkin purée
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (plus 1 egg yolk)
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips, divided

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9" x 13" pan and line with parchment.
  • Mix pumpkin, butter, and sugars; beat in egg, yolk, and vanilla.
  • Combine dry ingredients; fold into wet mixture and add 1 cup chocolate chips.
  • Spread batter in pan; sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top.
  • Bake for 26-28 minutes until set and golden; cool before slicing.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality chocolate chips and fresh pumpkin purée.
