Ingredients

Shrimp

  • 20-25 pieces large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails on) (Use fresh or frozen shrimp, thawed before cooking)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (For cooking shrimp)
  • 1 lemon lemon (For zest and juice)
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder (Optional)
  • to taste Salt and pepper (Adjust to preference)

Cocktail Sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish (Adjust to heat preference)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon hot sauce (Optional, for a kick)

Garnishes

  • to taste Fresh parsley (For garnish)
  • to taste Lemon wedges (For serving)
  • optional Ice (For chilling shrimp)

Instructions 

  • Cook the shrimp in boiling water with a pinch of salt until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and chill.
  • In a bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce to make the cocktail sauce.
  • Peel and devein the cooked shrimp if desired, then toss with olive oil and lemon zest.
  • Arrange shrimp on a platter, garnish with parsley and lemon wedges, and serve with cocktail sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, chill the shrimp thoroughly before serving.
